About Me
Janie Tuft is a long term realtor, who is ready to work for you – either listing or selling.
Janie has been in the Moab real estate business for 27 years and would like to be in it for another 27 years. In her many years of experience she has negotiated many transactions of all types of properties for both buyers and sellers. She knows the entire area first-hand, since she has resided here since 1954. Janie loves her business and community. Janie will show great patience in finding you the ideal home or property, even if it takes awhile. Stop by or contact this dedicated agent. You can rely on her to be a strong negotiator for you, but maintain her values while guiding you through either your first-time purchase of your most valuable asset; your home or the purchase of a major investment property. She can get the job done for you from start to finish with her extensive experience in real estate transactions.
Janie has completed her GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) training and professional designation, and she completed her Broker’s education and licensing in 1999. She has extensive (15 years) background in mapping and surveying, and really knows the lay of the land in this area, as well as lots of history. Even though she has resided here for quite sometime, she never gets tired of the scenic beauty this area has to offer and finds every day to be a new inspiration.
Janie believes in giving back to the community which supports her. She is very involved in public service by having been a commissioner for the Housing Authority of Southeastern Utah 9 years and was very instrumental in bringing affordable housing here, Moab Rotary Club member, mentor at the elementary school, Seekhaven shelter board member, Moab Museum board member, and a member of the local women’s barbershop singing group “Valley Voices”. In the past she has served on the Moab Chamber of Commerce Board and was president in 2000. Presently Janie serves on the Utah Assoc. of Realtors Grievance Committee, which meets 4 times a year to hear grievances from the public, and she’s been a member of this committee ongoing since 1995. She is also the education chairperson for the local MLS board’s continuing education needs, and arranges for live classes to be taught here.
In her private life, Janie enjoys spending time with her family, which includes 7 grandchildren. Her favorite activities are music, walking, camping, hiking, fishing, and traveling to new areas of the world and Southeastern Utah. Adventure and exploring are very important to her, but returning to the beautiful Moab area is always a real joy. She feels so fortunate to have made this beautiful area her home and loves sharing this beautiful area with our visitors.
